Three year Term Expires March 2012
The two positions, Town Clerk and Tax Collector, appear separately on the ballot and are voted separately, although they have historically gone together in Limerick, with a single person filling both capacities.
The duties of the Tax Collector are to collect all taxes and fees, such as real estate and property taxes and prepares and records tax liens. The Tax Collector spends a majority of her time with motor vehicle registrations and tax collection and sees nearly every person in Town for this alone.
The Town Clerk issues numerous permits and licenses, such as fish and game licenses and marriage licenses, maintains vital statistics for the Town, plans and supervises the conduct of all elections, and validates official documents.
