TIME WARNER CABLE UPDATE
Time Warner Cable’s Government and Public Affairs Team wanted to provide you with an update on our new customer service call center that recently opened in Portland, Maine and the progress we have made to date in transitioning former Adelphia customers to Time Warner Cable. It has been an ambitious effort with over 230,000 former Adelphia customers now being served locally by Time Warner Cable.
Previously, Adelphia’s customer service calls were routed to a third-party call center in Pensacola, Florida. Before the Adelphia acquisition took place, Time Warner Cable knew we wanted to bring these jobs back to Maine and serve our customers locally. This goal was realized on October 25 when our new call center officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Congressman Tom Allen and City of Portland Mayor James Cohen.
To date, we have created over 180 new full time positions primarily due to the expansion of our call center and we have been busy! The call center and billing system transition went well but also had its share of challenges. We are aware that some customers have experienced difficulty in reaching us due to some technical matters including issues we have had with our phone carrier. We have resolved many of these issues and apologize for any inconveniences experienced by our customers.
